Flow 1.7

・Travis

Heads down, commits up... We've been hammering away over the last month to release the latest version of Flow. The big ticket here, is a beta version of Lottie export.

Yes. That's a lottie animation, generated from Flow!

This release opens up our Lottie export. For now we handle shapes, layers, and groups which cover a vast majority of animatable properties necessary for making pretty things.

The animation above is a Lottie animation exported from Flow.

Below are a couple of other examples.

Layer movement with bounce curves.
Rotations with groups and anchor points.
Path animations, custom easing curves.

What Beta Means

As I mentioned, this is our beta release. Which means we cover a lot of things, but not everything. In short, we cover shapes, layers and groups (which is essentially the majority of things you need).

Specifically, you can find a list of things that we handle over at our Lottie Compatibility page.

Please check out that doc to see what’s available and what’s on deck.

We Need Your Help!

We need you to test this for us! Please! We’d love it if you made some animations, exported them to Lottie and tell us what works, what doesn’t, what needs improvement, etc. In this area, we’re the rookies here and could use your keen eye and experience.

Seriously, we looked at Lottie for the 1st time about a month ago.

For example, those animations above look sluggish… We’re hoping that’s Lottie’s fault and not ours. It’s hard for us to tell.

Please connect with us on our Slack Group to give us feeback.

Alternatively, email us with your thoughts on how we’re doing with Lottie!
